Since March is Women’s History Month we are celebrating by honoring all women and all they have accomplished. This month we are focusing on Hedy Lamarr and Ruzwana Bashir. Lamarr was an inventor that created the first form of frequency hopping, which is now known as Wi-Fi. Bashir is the co-founder of an escalating website called Peek.com, which in an online concierge service that also includes travel excursions. Both these women have enhanced today’s world. Lamarr and Bashir go hand in hand because of their relation to technology which is expanding in the twenty-first century. Here is a PowerPoint that we went over during class and the students shared and voiced their feelings about this topic with a few reflection questions.
